A historic counterpoise to the G20 Summit:Labor leaders nationwide declare unity vs attacks to livelihood amid crisis PDF Print E-mail

KMU marchLeaders of various labor unions and federations nationwide came up yesterday with a resolution against massive job cuts, contractualization and other anti-labor schemes in the face of the worsening global economic situation.

At the National Workers’ Conference organized by labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno, labor leaders also slammed the ongoing meeting of global elites in the G20 Pittsburgh Summit, saying the elite group is taking the livelihood of millions of people worldwide down the drain by pushing for more liberalized trade and financial flows.

The delegates marched to Welcome Rotonda afterwards as an expression of their vow to confront the crisis measures of the G20.
